Ellsworth Carbon 29er

Ellsworth Handcrafted Bikes.

Remember that saying about falling out of the ugly tree and hitting every branch on the way down? This is a prime example. Notwithstanding the company credentials as being carbon neutral, this is one bike I would happily walk by if only on aesthetic grounds. There are loads of top end 29er frames out there now, why put up with one that you’d be embarrassed to ride? I am pretty much a function over form man but sometimes….well, I have my limits you know!

Interesting to look at the comments though, despite more than a hint that this can be run with a belt drive, it seems that it can’t.

This guy seems to think the bike is fast so maybe you can forget how fugly it is once you are riding it!

Why do bike companies have new ‘systems’ such as limited vertical compliance on the drive train and give them silly names? DMS pah! This trend has been spotted and well documented by Singletrack; it would be a laugh to try and track down the most ridiculous example.
